Consulting work delivered by DigiFixIT consultants while supporting the Ministry of Justice explored how services, processes, technology and operational responsibilities connected across a changing digital environment.

Overview

Large digital organisations rarely operate as a single service. Users experience the combined effect of identity, devices, platforms, support processes, governance and multiple delivery teams.

The work focused on making those connections visible so service design, transition and operational decisions could be considered as part of one wider system.

Areas of work included organisational design, product design, process mapping, digital onboarding, identity and access management, service-management workflows, Microsoft-managed workplace services and transition governance.

SERVICE PRINCIPLE

A digital service is not just the technology. It is the combination of people, processes, platforms, responsibilities and decisions needed to make the service work.

The challenge

Complex delivery created a need for clearer service structure.

Multiple teams, systems and operational dependencies needed to be understood together rather than as isolated components.

Outcome

The value of the work came from making organisational complexity visible enough for different teams to discuss the same service from a shared point of view.

Instead of treating onboarding, identity, workplace technology, service management and transition as separate concerns, the service-design approach connected them as parts of a wider operational system.

This case study describes consulting work carried out while supporting the Ministry of Justice. It does not disclose internal operational information, restricted artefacts or confidential programme material.
